At Sawgrass Kennels, our #1 priority is making you and your pets feel safe and comfortable while away from home. That’s why we do everything we can to accommodate all your requests with the utmost importance in mind. Read below to check out a few of the daily care services we provide for your pets in the Decatur, Illinois area.

Dogs

All our canine runs are equipped with central heat and air conditioning, making them suitable for every season. Each visiting pet has an individual indoor and outdoor enclosure with staff-operated gates that allow your pets frequent access throughout the day. Never worry about your pet being cooped up inside or roasting under the sun; we control your pets in and outdoor activities according to the weather and their individual needs.

All our runs are equipped with disinfected resting benches and any favorite rug or blanket brought from home to make your pet feel most comfortable.

Cats

Each cat or kitten is provided with individual cages and litter boxes to give them the coziest setup possible! With all our animals, it is encouraged to bring any special toy or blanket that makes them feel at home. Is your cat not a dog person? Don’t worry, our feline center is kept away from the canines to ensure they are all kept in a stress-free environment.

Our live-in residents check on each pet at the end of the day, letting them out one last time to avoid overnight accidents and they are given a treat with a few extra rubs for being good cats & pups!

Playtime

At Sawgrass Kennels, we believe that playtime is a great way for your pets to blow off some steam while having fun with our loving staff! All our boarded cats and dogs are provided many opportunities throughout the day for interaction and playtime. We believe that individual attention is necessary for any pet to feel endless love and devotion, that’s why our staff gives your pet one-on-one time during walks, grooming, and designated play times!

Playtime is offered on a daily basis and is an elective service. Your pet may be leash walked, brushed, and/or played with in our perimeter fence area. This special service is available upon request at $15 per 15 minute session.

Feeding

Our facility prides itself on serving the best possible cuisine to your felines and pups; however, we recommend that you bring your own food. Your companions are given Hill’s Science Diet pet food products that have been proven to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. This premium brand offers taste tempting dinners in all proteins and flavors.

However, if you feel more comfortable bringing special treats or foods for your pet, we will gladly accommodate!

Bathing Services Provided to Our Guests

If your dog is boarded with us for more than 7 days, we provide a free courtesy bath to ensure they’re kept healthy and clean. However, if you would like your pet bathed within seven days, bathing is available for an additional charge based on the size and coat condition of your pet.

Before placing your pets into their temporary homes, they will be checked for fleas. If fleas are discovered, your pet will receive a flea bath and spray for a fee. This is done to ensure the health and safety of all pets residing in our kennel.
